Terrific Tuesday

Today we went to visit our kindergarten tree for the last time. Some things we noticed were that it was tall, had lots of leaves and was a mixture of dark and light green.
We observed our tree and chatted about what was different and then we took our last group photo by it.

When we returned to class after playing outside for a bit, we set to work on creating a picture of our summer tree using markers, tissue paper and glue.

It was lots of fun to tree and make a nice full tree just like ours.

We also were surprised with a visit from some grade one friends with some information about grade one. They read us letters they wrote to kindergarten to tell us all about the changes in grade one.
We learned that we will have lunch here in the gathering area (which we practiced yesterday)
We will learn many sight words that will be hard.
We will get fun lunch.
We get to stay all day.
We will start to learn to read.

We finished our day with phys. ed in the gym with Ms. Nanavaty playing loud and quiet tag with our friends from Mrs. Seymour's class.

Parent reminders:
*Thursday, June 20 we are planning a 'pond walk' so please come dressed for the weather/with appropriate footwear ( we hope to have  a picnic snack at the park but don't want to get the students too excited in case it rains and we can't go)
*Activity Day Monday, June 24
*Last day is June 26 with dismissal at 11:45
