Thumbs Up Thursday

This morning we began our day discussing how we can decide which animals are big and which are small. We talked about to find sizes we can measure. To begin discussing measurement, we talked about the length of things and then practicing using the terms long and short to describe things. We compared items on the Smartboard and found long and short things in the classroom. We recognized that often it depends on what you are comparing as to whether it is long or short. Tomorrow we will begin to use non-standard measurement to measure our pets.

We finished off our storyboards today, adding the last pet in the story. We can't wait for you to check these out at parent-teacher conferences. We had another storytelling practice and Mr. Stockton came and gave us some tips.

IMPORTANT- Today the tickets for our Celebration of Learning (on next Wednesday, March 13th) came home with students who are the oldest or only child at New Brighton School.  It is important that you check your child's backpacks for these tickets as they are required for entry on the evening of the event. (If you have an older child in the school, they will receive their tickets today as well). Please also refer to the message that was sent on school messenger today regarding tickets.

Reminders:
AM kindergarten students attend tomorrow, Friday, March 8th.

Kind regards,
Mrs. Patten
