Today we began our day with both music and P.E. When we returned, we practiced our letter sounds and then used our letter knowledge to find the beginning and end sounds of words. We are getting good at isolating the sounds. Mrs. Patten then challenged us to a math assessment where we tried to find all the combinations of 6 we could make using two colours. We also had to be able to show the different numerals that matched our colouring. We spent some time at centers and then Ms. Stacy (our PT) and Ms. Erin (our OT) came in and told us about a challenge. We are now going to be doing mountain climbers in our classroom each day to try to 'climb Mount Everest'. Mountain climbers are great for our core strength. Ask me to show you my mountain climbers.
Today we celebrated Tristan's birthday. Happy 5th birthday Tristan!
How to extend my learning at home:
- using two different objects, try to find ways to make the number 4 and the number 5. Talk about the different combinations of numbers.
Reminders:
Thank you to those families who have returned their blue Celebration of Learning forms. If you haven't already please fill out and return to Mrs. Patten
Kind regards,
Mrs. Patten
