Terrific Tuesday

We had another terrific day in kindergarten. We began our day by doing some math work around the number 4. We wrote the number and the numeral and then drew some ways that 4 can be represented. Mrs. Patten then posed a problem to us, I have 5 fish in a bowl.  Some are red and some are blue. How many of each colour are there? We then used red and blue snap cubes to make arrangements of 5. We came up with many ideas and will use these tomorrow to keep working on the problem.

We were very excited to see Mr. Stockton today. He came back to our class to share another story with us and begin to talk to us about using our imaginations. Using a magic wand, he turned us into wild animals. We began to realize that the magic wasn't from the wand but from our imaginations.  Mr. Stockton left us with two pieces of homework, one to do in the classroom and one to do at home with our families.  Hopefully you got to see the magic at home during your dinners.

At end our day, we enjoyed centers with our friends.

How to extend your child's learning at home:
- count different arrangements of objects around your house. Practice touching each object as your count it.

Reminders:
PM kindergarten attends this Friday, January 25th. NO school for AM kindergarten.

Kind regards,
Mrs. Patten
