We were excited to be back and learning today. Our day began with new learning tubs. We continue to work on counted and representing numbers as well as writing environmental print. Our new letters of the week are Mm and Nn so we learned each of these sounds and jolly phonics actions. We then practiced printing the letter Nn and drew words we knew that started with Nn. We are trying to sound out both the first and last letter of pictures that we draw.
We had a special presentation from the Heart and Stroke Foundation about Jump Rope for Heart. They talked to us about being healthy and how exercise can help. They taught us the word "EASY" which stands for:
E- Eat fruits and Vegetables
A- Be Active for 1 hour or more a day
S- Limit your screen time to 2 hours or less a day
Y- Yes to water most often
Check your child's backpack for a notice from Jump Rope for Heart.
Today we also celebrated Winston's 6th birthday. Happy birthday from your kindergarten class.
Our top banana tomorrow is Bennett.
How to support my learning at home:
- Find Mm and Nn words around the house
Reminders:
There is NO school this Friday, February 1st.
Kind Regards,
Mrs. Patten
