Some of our ideas included:
- giving people food at the food bank
- helping others to build homes
- giving people our clothes that don't fit us anymore
- helping people by giving donations
After we completed our drawings, we read the book There are Good People Everywhere which discussed the many ways that people are helping all over the world.
We will be continuing this conversation over the next few weeks in order to think about small ways that we can help others.
Mrs. Patten also gave us a number line challenge this morning. Each of our groups got a set of numbers to place on the number line except for one number was missing. We had to use the number line to explain which number was missing and why. It was a good challenge for us to try to explain our thinking.
Happy Belated 5th Birthday to Braelyn. She was away on her birthday so we celebrated today!
How to extend my learning at home?
- We practice our letters we have learned daily at school (l, t, f, j, k, u). You can also practice the name of these letters, their sounds and have the your child show you the action we do
- Talk about the small ways that you help each other around you home
Reminders:
- A notice about our Food Impact Presentation went home yesterday (today for some). Please sign this form and return to school along with $3.00 as soon as possible.
Kind regards,
Mrs. Patten
