Terrific Tuesday

Today we read a book called, The Bag I'm Taking To Grandma's.  As we listened to the book to the book, we stopped and drew predictions about what the boy might want to take to Grandma's. Some of our ideas were:

- a book to read- Lincoln
- a stuffy to snuggle- Winston
- a flashlight in case he gets scared- Karis

We also predicted what mom would say when she saw the boys bag of toys. We then drew our ideas about what the mom would think the boys actually needs.  We all decided snacks, clothes and a stuffy.

To go along with our reading, we also got to check out Raz-kids today. Mrs. Patten showed us how to log on to our own personal reading site. Raz-kids is an online reading program for students.  Each student has their own log in and password.  They are able to select books to read or listen to.  Please check your child's backpack for their personal Raz-kids page.  For your information, the website is
https://www.raz-kids.com/. Please use the kid log-in to sign in to Mrs. Patten's class using the username lpatten1.  Happy reading!

Thanks for our Top Banana, Ronan for sharing his hockey mouth guard with the class and explaining about hockey.  Tomorrow our top banana is Braelyn.

Notices:
Next Wednesday, October 31st is Halloween. Students are invited to wear either their halloween costume or their pajamas to school that morning. Students will be engaged in their regular learning activities, including music, so we ask that their attire does not restrict their movements or vision. Also, any costumes that include masks or weapons should be kept at home where they can be used for their evening Trick or Treating activities. Please note that no shareable food should be sent for Halloween at the school- regular snacks only :)

Movie tickets for those who ordered came home with your child today. Please note that the movie night is now sold out.

Kind Regards,
Mrs. Patten
