Marvelous Monday

We were excited and ready for a new week, starting with our new learning tubs. Today we read a booked called Homes and talked about all the different types of homes that people have.

We discussed how homes do some purposes no matter what they look like such as:
- keep us safe
- keep us warm and cool
- give us a place to sleep
- give us a place to make food
- give us a place to be with our family

We had a look at some of the types of homes people have in New Brighton.  After deciding which home was like our own, we created a class graph to look at the types of homes. Although we live in different places, all of our homes keep us safe.

We enjoyed a couple games in gym today with Ms. Nanavaty and then enjoyed our centers. Many of us chose to play kitchen, playdough, lego and blocks.

Thanks to our top banana, Tristan, for sharing his Orca and pictures of whale watching with the class. Tomorrow's top banana is Quinn.

How to extend my learning at home:
- talk about some of the items in your home and what they are used for

Notes:
Kindergarten students have the option to take part in popcorn snacks days at the school. If you would like to order a popcorn snack for your child, you need to sign up with the provider Healthy Hunger  (www.healthyhunger.ca).  If you do not already have an account, you will need to sign up for one.  After you have signed up, you can add your child by using the add/manage students option.  You will need to select New Brighton School and Mrs. Patten's AM kindergarten class. Please let me know if you need any support with this.

Kind regards,
Mrs. Patten
