Marvelous Monday

We were excited to see the sun shining again! Today, we read a book called, Just The Way You Are which recognized that the way we look and the things we like make us who we are. Using this idea, we discussed how who we are is what makes us unique.  To share some of our unique traits, we drew a page in our journals describing our families, favourite foods, favourite activities and ourselves in our favourite colour. We will continue this conversation this week as we begin to discuss needs and wants.

We also got some new centers in our classroom and are excited to try out the kitchen and wooden blocks tomorrow.

Please check your child's backpack for their pattern sheet that came home today. This is a quick check-in sent home to let you know how your child is doing on some of the skills we are working on in class.

How to extend my learning at home:
- discuss the ways that each of you in your family are special and unique
- try making some patterns at home using different materials.  Can you make a AB, AAB, ABC pattern?

Thank you to our Top Banana, Mekaeel, for his help today.

Reminder: Picture day is on Wednesday, October 17th

Kind regards,
Mrs. Patten
