Today we took the chance to draw ourselves in the best way we knew how. Many of us added our heads, bodies, arms, legs, hands, feet and facial features. We also read the story, Ish, and discussed how the boy in the book learned to love his drawings even though they weren't always perfect. Over the next little while, we will be working on identifying body parts and practicing drawing these in order to create more detailed pictures. Try out our step by step guide at home. As we practice and discuss what we look like, we will also begin to talk about how each of us are unique.
Today we also...
...went to gym- Bennett
...played barn, lego and colouring at centers- Quinn
...played trains- Mekaeel
...drew a picture of ourselves- Ronan
...played animals- Miguel
In step 6, students have been adding their own details such as facial features and hair.
New Brighton School will be having our Terry Fox Fun this Friday, September 28th. The run will begin at around 8:30am after a quick assembly. Families are welcome to join us out on the field/pathway for the event. Please remember that students should wear comfortable shoes and be appropriately dressed for the weather.
New Brighton School will be collecting Toonies For Terry, so please bring any donations into the classroom.
As we begin Top Banana next week, please remember that students will need to bring in an item to share with the class. This item should be able to fit into their backpacks.
With the exception of Top Banana, please remind your children that other toys should be left at home. This is the best way to avoid lost or broken special toys at school. Thanks for your cooperation.
Kind regards,
Mrs. Patten
