Terrific Tuesday
Today we switched up our table time a bit and worked on breaking up the number 7, 8 and 9 to find number pairs while some of played a game with cubes and a cup all about 'How many are missing?'.
We have been practicing our connecting our letter sounds to words with our morning message as a group. Ms. Taylor isolates sounds for us from the beginning or middle or end of words and we have to identify which letter. We also try and find words in the message that start with different sounds! We are getting pretty good at identify sight words like 'I', 'a', 'at', and 'the' and familiar words like 'good" "morning' and 'kindergarten'.
Our learning job today was a continuation of yesterdays secret writing project - we worked hard to finish up the writing even though it was pretty tough.
We also played a full group game of Splat! Splat is an online math game which can be downloaded for free from a variety of sites. Splat is a fun way to build number pair fluency. We will making our own version in our visual journals this week!
We finished our day with Phys. Ed with Ms. Nanavaty. We love practicing our dribbling skills :)
Parent reminders:
Friday May 10th will be AM Kindergarten: Career Day: students are invited to dress up in their future career attire.
