After morning tubs, we continued on with our pet work. We discussed good and poor choices for pets in our classroom. We sorted some animals on the Smartboard and talked about things such as the amount of space animals need and how easy they are to take care of. Some of our ideas included:
Good Pets
- cats because they give you love by purring
- dogs because they play with you
- frogs because they are small and easy to care for
- birds and fish because they can live in a small tank or cage
Bad Pets
- bears because they eat too much and are too big
- a horse because they need too much space
- wolves and foxes because they need a den
After our class discussion, we each worked on picking our own good and poor choices. We drew pictures of these and then worked on writing out our ideas. Some of us are practicing beginning and end sounds while others are working toward writing words in sentences and finding popcorn (sight) words. We did a great job.
Thanks for Kaeson for sharing about a pet snake today. Tomorrow's top banana is Owin.
