Today we celebrated friendship in our kindergarten classroom. The students were very excited to hand out their Valentines to their classmates. We talked as a class about friendship and how we care for others. We read a book called, Big Bear Hug, where a bear showed his love and caring by hugging others. This act of kindness helped him save a tree in the forest.
We talked about the way that we can show caring. Some of our ideas included:
- hugging
- cuddling
- playing together
- reading a book together
- helping each other
- smiling
We also had a chance to practice our drumming with Ms. Lysak and Mr. Stockton came to help us finish off our story! We are almost ready for practice, practice, practice :)
Ways to support my child's learning at home:
-Over the break, practice our letters and letters sounds. We are using these lots in activities and writing in kindergarten
-Talk about the things that pets need. Which things are hard to give them? Which are easy?
Reminders:
AM kindergarten attends tomorrow. Dismissal will be at 11:45am tomorrow. There is NO school Thursday, February 14th, Friday, February 15th and Monday, February 18th. We will see everyone back on Tuesday, February, 19th.

Mrs. Patten
