We did a great job turning these ideas into drawings that represented the dark world the the animals lived in before Grandmother Spider brought the sun, moon, stars and fire back to the animals.
We also began to show how numbers can be represented in a number of ways but still stay the same number. Using different sized birds, we each cut out 5 birds, coloured them and then placed them on a branch. During the activity, Mrs. Patten asked us to show how we knew which 5 birds we wanted. We will now be using the art pieces to talk about different ways that 5 can be shown.
How to extend my learning at home:
- use a variety of materials to represent the numbers 2, 3, 4, 5 in different ways. Discuss the ways that the objects are arranged.
Reminders;
AM kindergarten attends tomorrow, Friday, January 18th
Kind regards,
Mrs. Patten
